I'm Aimée Hill, and I provide editorial services to independent authors.

Are you ready to bring a professional on to your team?

I love to work on contemporary, sci-fi and fantasy manuscripts. I work in British and US English using CMOS and the Oxford Style Guide. My approach to editing is always to seek out the elements of your writing that are fantastic and celebrate it. Using what shines in your manuscript as a foundation for further edits ensures that your voice is validated and honoured.

As an Intermediate Member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, I am committed to ongoing training. I have completed the CIEP copyediting and proofreading courses (CE1 and 2, P1) as well as a number of courses from the Publishing Training Centre. This compliments my in house training in copyediting and proofreading from Cambridge University Press (books) and the European Respiratory Society. I have a Master's in Publishing and a First Class honours degree in English Literature.

Beyond books and editing them, I love to knit and sew. There is something peaceful in creating something (even if that peace is interrupted by calling the sewing machine mean names). I am getting into gardening. This year I have succeeded in growing a whole bunch of rocket and feeding the snails a whole bunch of spinach. Ask me how my strawberries are getting on!

If I sound like the kind of person you'd like on your team, get in touch today. Let me know what excites you about your book and how I can help.
